On Saturday, September 11, Conventual Franciscan Father Charles McCarthy was officially installed as pastor of San Estevan, Rey Church and Missions at Pueblo of Acoma, New Mexico, by Gallup Bishop James Wall. On the next day, the same ceremony was celebrated in order to officially confirm Fr. Charles in service to the people of San José/St Joseph Parish with its six villages. A native of Chicago, Fr. Charles has wide pastoral experience, with both Native American and Spanish-Speaking parishes around the U.S. He serves with Father Chris Kerstiens, parochial vicar and minister to the incarcerated.
